As part of an ongoing program emphasizing strong communication with the public he serves, Sheriff Les Burgett is providing monthly reports to the media and the Perry County Fiscal Court regarding his office’s productivity.
In May of 2008, The Perry County Sheriff’s Department responded to (101) 9-1-1 calls for service, (345) non-emergency calls for service, issued (144) citations, and served (58) arrest warrants.
In the same month, deputies served (474) court papers and processes, escorted (9) funerals, and transported (41) prisoners for the District and Circuit Courts of Perry County.
The sheriff’s fleet traveled a total of (29,472) miles in just 31 days. Prisoner transportation accounted for (916) of those miles, and an additional (28,556) miles were tallied patrolling the county and delivering court papers.
